Hydrant Flushing

Combined Locks Water Utility Hydrant Flushing Started for Spring ’24

Spring Schedule: Week starting Monday, April 15th, 2024.

The Combined Locks Water Department will begin semi-annual water main/hydrant flushing on Monday, September 18th, 2023. The flushing should be completed in one week, but may continue through Friday, September 29th, 2023 if needed.

The water main flushing will remove most of the natural minerals, such as iron, that are harmless but will discolor water. If you see our Public Works Department personnel working in your area, use little, or if possible, no water for ½ hour to ¾ of an hour to ensure that water has “settled down” – so that the discoloration is not drawn into your water system.
If you do find discoloration in your system, stop using water for about ½ hour – then draw off the discolored water through the cold-water faucet only. Our best advice is for you to wait until after 4:00 p.m. before washing clothes to minimize potential discoloration.

Thank you for your cooperation. Combined Locks Water Utility

Tire Collection

2024 Tire Collection

We are no longer able to dispose of scrap tires for free at the County landfill.  Village residents who need to discard old tires (20” car tires or smaller) must pay $10 per tire at the Clerk’s Office by April 12 for collection the week of April 15 – April 19.  Tires must be placed curbside on your normal garbage collection day.

Tire Collection Service has changed for 2024.

Interceptor Rehabilitation Project : Impact along the river

Could the Interceptor Rehabilitation Project impact property owners along the river?

Most of the project work will take place on the Fox River itself, and work on the river will likely begin next Spring. For any stretch of shoreline that is impacted by project work, Heart of the Valley Metropolitan Sewerage District will ensure that it is restored to its previous condition.

The Water Dept needs your help

The Water department for the Village of Combined Locks needs your help.

The Wisconsin DNR and Public Service Commission (PSC) are requiring all municipal water systems to complete a system wide inventory of all water services. You can help by self-reporting the service information for your residence.
The items that we need to record include:

  • Meter serial number
  • Water line material and size entering the house
  • Water line material throughout the house
  • Whether there is a water softener or filter system in the house

Fill out the survey. View additional information
