Welcome Sgt. Trevor Hartjes!
Hello everyone!

I have been employed with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office since April of 2016 after graduating from Fox Valley Technical College. Prior to attending FVTC, I was a 2013 graduate of Wrightstown High School. Upon completing the field training program, I was a nightshift Deputy within the Sheriff’s Office for one year until I transitioned into the Village of Combined Locks and Town of Buchanan for approximately six months. Following, I was an Investigator with the Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group – Drug Unit which is a four-county drug unit the Sheriff’s Office participates in. My other responsibilities at the agency include being a Field Training Officer, a Defense and Arrest Tactics instructor, and a member of the Emergency Response Team.
During my employment, I thankfully had experience in many different aspects of law enforcement which has led me to my desire for serving the citizens of the Village of Combined Locks. As I worked within the Village as a Deputy previously, I was able to experience what Combined Locks had to offer which included the small community culture, friendly citizens, local businesses, and an overall safe community where families can enjoy the local parks and recreation.
Being from a small Village, I know the importance of establishing trust between myself and the citizens while being an approachable role model within the community. I recognize how great of a community Combined Locks is and I am excited to further contribute to the culture while ensuring the citizens are pleased with the services provided.
I have spent a considerable amount of time within the Village of Combined Locks, visited local businesses, and got the pleasure to know many citizens while growing up in the Fox Valley. As your Sergeant, I look forward to continuing to build relationships and communicate with as many citizens as I can.
My goal is to establish community programs that focus on education of resources for the community as well as safety for families with children.
I will continue to act as the liaison between the Village of Combined Locks and the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office while working professionally with the other six Deputies assigned to the Village of Combined Locks and Town of Buchanan.
Good luck and welcome back to Sergeant Van Handel as he has been out of state completing the Bomb Technician School and continuing his duties back into the county. I will carry on Sergeant Van Handel’s passion for serving the community and engaging with the citizens on a daily basis. Thank you all for the opportunity to be able to represent the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office within a great community.
